Coach Reslow Signed as Lead Broadcaster for Wentworth MVB in GNAC Playoffs

April 5th, 2022

Starting Thursday, April 7th Coach Reslow will once again travel up to Boston, Massachusetts, to be the main broadcaster in a big time match-up in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) featuring the #10 men’s volleyball program in the country in Wentworth Institute of Technology (Overall top seed in the conference) as they host the winner of the #4 and #5 match in the field featuring Elms College and Regis College.

The Playoffs are here, and those that love men’s volleyball need only look to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) for high level play in the region. The GNAC has had an exciting regular season featuring Wentworth (nationally ranked their entire season, currently sitting tenth), Lasell (reached a national ranking of fifteenth and now sits on the outside, looking in on the national board), and Rivier University (Perennial powerhouse who finished third in conference, but has beaten Lasell and is always dangerous in win or go home matches). The Leopards earned the top seed in the playoffs with two wins over Rivier U. and a split with Lasell. Rivier and Lasell split with each other, meanwhile Lasell was the only conference member to beat Wentworth and it took four sets to do it. It’s worth noting that Lasell has their two wins against Wentworth and Rivier on their home court while both loses came on the road.

For Wentworth, it begins with Jacob LaBouliere. The 6’7 sophomore out of Pennsylvania has put in All-American numbers and has lead the Leopards to a pristine 26-4 overall record on the year. Lasell features a freshman opposite out of Arizona in Jordan Shinaut. Shinaut should be the consensus Rookie of the Year in the GNAC and has been instrumental in the Laser’s 21-8 overall record. Rivier brings a graduate student to the table in David Smith out of Ohio. Smith’s numbers are high level and he has carried most of the load this season leading to a 16-9 overall tally for the Raiders.

All top three seeds have strong setters (Connor Adams from New Jersey for Wentworth, Angel Garcia from Hawaii for Lasell, and Pedro Campos from California for Rivier), and strong supporting casts…Hunter Oshman (NJ), Alex McLane (OH), David Marsh (MA), Collin Stockton (PA) for Wentworth. Brendan Joyce (MA), Theo Zaharewicz (CT), Tucker Merritt (CA), and Jan Baranowski (IL) for Lasell. Chris Lezon (RI), Sokunbuth Ly (MA), Ethan Soltis (OH), and Isaac Borges (NH) for Rivier. The liberos are also high level with Phoenix Stebbins (PA) for Wentworth, Alex Weinhaus (NY) for Lasell, and Jack Hromada (NY) for Rivier.

Throw in arguably the best coach in the conference right now in Wentworth’s Evin Giglio…the up and coming hungry skipper, and outside hitter for Boston Bounce, in Lasell’s Jeff Vautrin…and the legend with more wins than miles on most cars in Rivier’s Craig Kolek…and you have three programs that can easily do the job and win the whole thing. Exciting volleyball is coming.

In the end, there can be only one champ and one bid awarded from the GNAC to the NCAA tournament. Coach Reslow’s broadcast(s) will be through the Wentworth portal which will begin April 7th with at 7pm first serve. Should the Leopards win the match, they will host the GNAC championship on Saturday with a time to be released after securing their spot in the event. In that case, Coach Reslow will be the broadcaster for the final. Tune in on the “Watch Here” link below for the Wentworth action of the GNAC playoffs and Coach Reslow’s broadcasting and analysis.
