Inaugural ResV Systems RI Boys Volleyball Charity All-Star Match is a go…
6/14/22
On June 18th at East Greenwich High School at 1pm, the inaugural ResV Systems RI Boys Volleyball Charity All-Star Match will happen. It’s been a long time coming, as Coach Reslow first had the idea of this event a year ago but was unable to bring it to fruition until now. ResV was actually born from the idea of an event like this, and in teaming up with Wyld Card Volleyball and dedicating proceeds to Reslow’s favorite charity, The Tomorrow Fund, the event is a go and it could be the premier boys volleyball event for the future.
New ideas! For the match, a new scoring system of play has been construed by Coach Reslow and his ResV Systems team. They will play by the rules that governed the boys volleyball season, however, there will be slight variations in what decides the winner of the match. The match will consist of six sets. Four sets will be to 25 points. Two sets will be to 15 points. Once play is completed, the Roller will come out and six balls, numbered on through six, will be selected at random. Each ball represents a set, and each team only needs to two sets they’ve won to come out to win the match.
Sounds confusing? Yes! However, it will ensure that both teams try to win as many sets as possible to have the highest probability of winning the match when the Roller comes out. Should a team sweep, Roller stays at home.
All is all, the event will have, in Coach Reslow’s opinion, the top boys volleyball players in the state. The volleyball level will be solid, the event proceeds go to a great charity, and there will be some great guests and old friends from Coach Reslow’s past in attendance.
Hope you can make it!
