RI Boys Volleyball Championships are Tomorrow!

June 10th, 2022

Top of the Mountain Time!

D1 - La Salle (2) vs. North Kingstown (1) : 4pm at Rhode Island College

  • La Salle got through a tough match with Coventry in the opener (3-1) and survived a five-set thriller with Chariho (3-2). If they can block like they did against Chariho, NK will have a tough time.

  • North Kingstown took three set victories of the Cranstons, West (3-0) and East (3-0) to get to the finals. Cody Tow on the right has helped shore up the net while High School All American Mason Andrade is looking to cap his phenomenal senior season.

D2 - Westerly (3) vs. Mount Saint Charles / North Smithfield (1) : 2pm at Rhode Island College

  • Westerly had an opening round win with sweep of Barrington (3-0) and then duplicated the effort against East Providence (3-0). Is there enough arrows left in the sling to take down the Big Bear?

  • Mount Saint Charles / North Smithfield had a bye in the first round. The Hybrid then promptly dispatched Pilgrim in three (3-0). Connor DeSousa will look to cap his excellent D2 season off in style.

D3 - Exeter West Greenwich (4) vs. Johnston (2) : 6pm at Rhode Island College

  • EWG started off the playoffs with a five-set thriller with Burrillville (3-2), then upset undefeated Lincoln in five in the semis (3-2). It will be interesting to see if they can take the crown in five, thus playing the most amount of volleyball possible set wise.

  • Johnston had a bye in the first round and then went war with St. Rays and came out on top in five (3-2). Without the matchup craved with Lincoln, it’ll be interesting to see how the Panthers approach EWG’s surprising run.

Coach Reslow will be in the broadcast booth for NFHS tomorrow starting with D2, followed by D1, and finishing the night with D3. Tune in here for all the action of the RI boys volleyball finals! Rhode Island High School Volleyball (nfhsnetwork.com)
